His journey began in 2015 as a freelance DJ, performing at clubs, private events, and social functions across Kenya. Over the years, he refined his sound and presence, earning a resident DJ position at Redmart Nightclub, where discipline, consistency, and professionalism shaped his growth both as an entertainer and as a person.

Beyond music, Vancy is trained in Information Communication Technology (ICT) and has hands-on experience in cyber café operations, technical troubleshooting, and customer service. This unique mix of tech skills and entertainment allows him to understand digital branding, audience engagement, and modern media platforms with ease.

 The Journey of DJ Vancy – From Thika to the Turntables My name is David Gitonga, but many know me as DJ Vancy — a name that echoes through Kenya’s club scenes, Mugithi events, and reggae circles. My deejay journey started in 2015 at Klub Summit, after previously working as a waiter at Club Image (2014–2016) and later in a Hindi hotel. I eventually transitioned full-time into entertainment, and today, I stand as a proud founder of Vancy Entertainment Group — carrying the slogan: From Set-Up to Show-Time. I’ve been blessed to perform at venues like Redmart, The Hub, Iconic Lounge, and SNL Lounge, among others.
