The Journey of DJ Vancy – From Thika to the Turntables
My name is David Gitonga, but many know me as DJ Vancy — a name that echoes through Kenya’s club scenes, Mugithi events, and reggae circles.
My deejay journey started in 2015 at Klub Summit, after previously working as a waiter at Club Image (2014–2016) and later in a Hindi hotel. I eventually transitioned full-time into entertainment, and today, I stand as a proud founder of Vancy Entertainment Group — carrying the slogan: From Set-Up to Show-Time.
I’ve been blessed to perform at venues like Redmart, The Hub, Iconic Lounge, and SNL Lounge, among others. Whether it’s a vibrant Mugithi night or an old school reggae throwback, I bring nothing but pure vibes and energy.
Notable Mixtapes:

John De Mathew Tribute Mix
Best of Salim Junior Mugithi

I draw motivation from a close friend in the Kenya Defence Forces, Victor, who once told me:
"If you don't do it, others will do it."
That message pushed me to keep going — even when the spotlight felt dim.
This blog is part of my story, but also a way to stay visible in the digital world. I appreciate every stream, share, and shoutout.
The journey continues...
